Emily Grunert (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team is featured in the ninth edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
Grunert helped the Warhawks sweep the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships and reach the NCAA Tournament in 2019. She appeared in six matches, playing a season-high 25 minutes during UW-W's 3-0 victory over Ripon on Sept. 24.
 
As a junior in 2018, her first year with the team, she played in 16 matches for UW-Whitewater, totaling four shots, including two on goal. She played a career-high 51 minutes at nationally ranked Washington-St. Louis on Sept. 16 of that season.
 
Grunert joined the Warhawks after a two-year run at Eastern Illinois University, a Division I program in Charleston, Ill. She took a redshirt season in 2016 and was a part of the team in 2017 before making her decision to transfer.
 
A member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2019-20, Grunert is majoring in biology. She hopes to be a wildlife biologist in the future.
