The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon Mooney as the new head coach of the Warhawk women's bowling program. Mooney, a well-accomplished alumnus of UW-Whitewater, brings a wealth of experience from his current role as the head coach of the Warhawk men's club bowling program.

"We are excited to welcome Brandon as the new leader of our Warhawk women's bowling program," said Athletic Director Ryan Callahan. "His knowledge and experience with UW-Whitewater, combined with his understanding of and passion for the sport of bowling, make him a great fit for the program." 

Brandon Mooney graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. During his time as a student, he was an active member of the Warhawk men's club bowling program from 2017 to 2021. After completing his degree, Mooney transitioned to a coaching role in 2022, where he led the men's team to notable success, including clinching the ITC National Championship in 2025. His exceptional coaching abilities were further recognized when he was named the 2026 CTBCA Coach of the Year.

Mooney shares a deep connection with UW-Whitewater, having spent his collegiate years as both a student and athlete. "Whitewater has always felt like home for me." 

In discussing his coaching philosophy, Mooney emphasized his commitment to preparing student-athletes for life beyond college. "I believe in preparing the student athletes for life after college. I want to provide my student athletes with a great collegiate experience, and I try to provide them with opportunities to allow them to grow both in bowling and in life. I also try to create healthy relationships with them, so that way they know I'm always there for them however they may need me."

Mooney began his new role this week and shared his enthusiasm about this new chapter. "As a UW-Whitewater alum and the current leader of the Warhawk men's club bowling program, I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to expand my responsibilities and take on the leadership of the women's program."
