Jake Herlache (West Bend, Wis./Grafton) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's swimming and diving team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
In 2020, Herlache placed among the top eight in four events, including a second team all-conference finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, to help the Warhawks place third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. He also placed third in the 100 free, fourth in the 200 free and eighth in the 50 free.
 
Herlache's career-best time of 1:43.26 in the 200 free, which he established at the 2020 WIAC Championship, is the No. 7 personal record mark in program history.
 
As a sophomore in 2018-19, Herlache finished among the top five in six events at the conference meet, including third place in the 800-yard freestyle relay. He placed fourth in the 100 free, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay, and fifth in the 200 free.
 
For his career, Herlache owns 15 top-eight WIAC finishes and is among the program's all-time top 10 in two events.
 
A three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Herlache is majoring in finance.
