Emily Gillen (Richfield, Wis./Slinger) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
In 2019, Gillen helped the Warhawks capture the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship and qualify for the NCAA Tournament. She appeared in 26 matches and ranked fourth on the team with 45 blocks (0.56 per set) and averaged more than one kill per set.
 
Gillen recorded five or more kills six times, including a season-best nine at Augsburg (Minn.). She collected four blocks on five different occasions, including in matches at nationally-ranked Wittenberg (Ohio) and Emory (Ga.).
 
As a sophomore in 2018, Gillen played in 27 matches and totaled 95 kills and 47 blocks, helping the team reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
For her career, Gillen has appeared in 53 matches (160 sets), including six in the postseason.
 
A two-year member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll, Gillen is majoring in biology with a minor in psychology.
