Getting To Know The Warhawks – Rebekah Schumacher, Women’s Basketball

Rebekah Schumacher (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
In 2019-20, Schumacher helped the Warhawks win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship and reach the NCAA Tournament. In 27 games, including 17 as a starter, she averaged 6.0 points and 3.4 rebounds per game and finished tied for 11th in the conference with 15 blocked shots. Schumacher added 39 assists and 27 steals.
 
Schumacher tallied career highs with 16 points and eight rebounds in UW-Whitewater's home win over UW-River Falls. She scored in double figures in four other games, including UW-W victories over UW-La Crosse, St. Thomas (Minn.), UW-Eau Claire and at UW-River Falls.
 
As a sophomore in 2018-19, Schumacher appeared in 20 games and helped the Warhawks qualify for the NCAA Tournament. She played in 18 games as a freshman in 2017-18, when UW-Whitewater swept the WIAC regular season and tournament championships and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
A three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Schumacher is majoring in elementary education with a minor in mathematics.
