Luke VanDonslear (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Tennis team competed in the NCAA DIII Singles Tournament in St. Louis hosted by WashU.
VanDonslear had a tough first round match-up against the seventh-ranked Vuk Vuksanovic from Tufts. Vuksanovic was seeded fourth coming into the match in the bracket.
VanDonslear battled back after Vuksanovic took the first four games of the first set. VanDonslear took the hold, taking his first game of the match at 4-1.
Tufts took the first set 6-1 and opened the second set with three games. VanDonslear took game four, but Vuksanovic finished out the set, winning the match 6-1, 6-1.
VanDonslear wrapped up his season with a 15-16 record, going 7-9 at Number 1 singles & helping the Warhawk men's tennis team to one of their best seasons.Â
