The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team clinched the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference West Championship with a 4-2 win over UW-La Crosse in their Friday evening dual.

The Warhawks will face the winner of the East side of the conference on May 2nd in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

The Warhawks opened the match with a doubles point win, clinching the point with wins at the number one & number three doubles flights. Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) & Carter Michaels (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan) took the top flight with a 6-0 sweep. Keith Moeller (Dallas, Tex./DKM-I University Prep) and Julius Jonsson (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Aranäsgymnasiet) took their match 6-2 in the third flight to take the point. 

Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) opened up the Warhawks singles flights with a straight set win at the top flight. Billson only dropped two games in a 6-1, 6-1 win. 

The Eagles grabbed two single flights to even the score at 2-2, but the Warhawks took the final two to clinch the dual. At the fourth flight, Carter Michaels (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan) fell in the tiebreaker in his first set. Michaels bounced back, winning the second two sets 6-3, 6-3. Keith Moeller (Dallas, Tex./DKM-I University Prep) clinched the match with a win at 6th singles, taking the flight 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 to help the Warhawks win their third consecutive Western title.
