The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Tennis team's run in the NCAA Team Tournament came to an end with a 5-1 loss to No. 9 Denison in the Regional Championship.
The Warhawks picked up the #1 doubles flight, with
Luke VanDonslear (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) and
Reuben Giorgio (Perth, Western Australia/Applecross) taking a 8-7(2) victory. A back and forth match from the get go, the pair won 3 points in a row during the tiebreak to take the team point for the Warhawks.
After the doubles flights, Denison led 2-1. In singles play, Denison kept the momentum going, picking up the three flights they needed for the decision at #2, #3, and #4 singles.
The Warhawks 2024 Team Season comes to an end, but
Luke VanDonslear (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) will represent the Warhawks in the NCAA Individual Tournament hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.
