Men's Tennis Continues Winning Streak on the Road

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team defeated Ohio Wesleyan by a 9-0 score and topped Wooster 8-1 in dual matches played at Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio.
 
UW-Whitewater improved to 10-1 overall and extended its dual win streak to 10.
 
Against Ohio Wesleyan (2-5), the Warhawks are took all three doubles for a 3-0 match lead.
 
Seniors Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./South) and Rory Calabria (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) put the team on the board at No. 2 with an 8-2 win. Sophomore Alex Gray (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) and freshmen Danila Borovykh (Ryazan, Russia/Boca Prep International School (Fla.)) ended in the No. 1 spot with an 8-1 win. Ending the doubles, junior Robert Rider (Annapolis, Md./South River) and sophomore Noah Guillermo (Muskego, Wis./Marquette University HS) combined at No. 3 for an 8-5 win.
 
Borovykh posted the first singles win by a 6-0, 6-1 count in the No. 3. position, and Gray clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Sophomore Ryan Mitchell (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) was next to finish, claiming his super tiebreaker in the third set for a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) win. In the No. 4 position, sophomore Brendan Pietila (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead) took the win by a 6-2, 6-4 margin to clinch the match. Next on the board was Guillermo with a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the No. 6 position, and Wood ended the match with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at No. 5.
 
UW-Whitewater continued their Saturday in Ohio against Wooster (4-3).
 
For doubles, finishing first at No. 3, Gray and Borovykh took the 8-3 win. At the No. 2 position, Wood and Calabria took an 8-5 win. Guillermo and Mitchell paired up for an 8-3 victory to close out the doubles sweep.
 
Borovykh started the singles out against Wooster and ended with a 6-3, 6-1 win. Mitchell clinched the match for the Warhawks with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 3. Calabria claimed a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Following him, Gray earned a 6-3, 6-4 win. 

Freshman Cole Lindwall (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) closed out the UW-W scoring with a 6-1, 7-6 (4) triumph at No. 5.
