The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team sent four singles players to the Round of 32 and two doubles teams to the Round of 16 Friday on the first day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
 
Sophomores Alex Gray (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville), Ryan Mitchell (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East), freshmen Danila Borovykh (Ryazan, Russia/Boca Prep International School (Fla.)) and Cole Lindwall (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) each advanced to the third round in the singles draw. Gray is the No. 5 seed, Mitchell is No. 12 and Borovykh is No. 16.
 
The doubles combinations of Borovykh and junior Robert Rider (Annapolis, Md./South River) and Gray and senior Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./South) reached the third round in doubles. Gray and Wood are the fourth-seeded pair.
 
First- and second-round scores were unavailable as of 10:15 p.m. Friday.
 
Competition at the regional tournament continues Saturday.
