The No. 10 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team placed sixth over the weekend at the 18-team McKendree Bearcat Hammer Open at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Ill.
 
The Warhawks finished with a 1-2 record in best-of-seven Baker bracket matches Sunday, posting a 4-3 victory over Prairie View A&M before concluding the tournament with back-to-back losses, including a 4-1 setback against Maryville and a 4.5-2.5 defeat in a rematch against Prairie View A&M.
 
UW-Whitewater finished with a 6-6 record for the weekend and a total pinfall of 12,655 pins, or 183.4 per game.
 
The Warhawks host the Warhawk Classic Nov. 8-10 at Bowl-A-Vard in Madison.
