The No. 21 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team finished third over the weekend at the 10-team Crusader Classic hosted by Valparaiso University at Lynwood Bowl in Lynwood, Ill.
 
The Warhawks, the No. 1 seed through the first two days of competition, were downed by Kentucky Wesleyan in seven Baker games and by Lewis in five games before defeating Valparaiso in seven games to place third.
 
UW-Whitewater finished 9-3 for the weekend and was led by tournament MVP Kailee Tubbs (Flint, Mich./Davison), who placed first in traditional games.
 
The Warhawks host the Warhawk Classic next Friday-Sunday, Nov. 9-11, at AMF West Lanes in Milwaukee.
