The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team posted several strong results in singles play Saturday on the second and final day of the Warhawk Fall Invitational at Wangerin Courts.
The Warhawks welcomed six scholarship schools to Whitewater representing the NCAA Division I, Division II and NAIA levels.
Sophomore
Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) finished as runner-up in the No. 1 singles draw with a 2-1 record. She bested UW-Milwaukee and Cardinal Stritch in straight sets before falling in the final against Olivet Nazarene.
Senior
Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) reached the consolation final of the same bracket, but was downed by UW-Milwaukee.
Junior
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) finished third at No. 3 singles, while junior
Alexandra Talyansky (Mequon/Homestead) placed fourth in the No. 2 singles draw. Junior
Kassie Alexander (Waukesha/South) was fourth at No. 5 singles, and senior
Rachel Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/South) claimed two wins to seize the consolation title in the same draw.

Gabriella Gregorio (Roselle, IL/Bartlett) finished fourth and freshman
Madeline Slicker (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) reached the consolation final.
Humphreys and Kitchell will participate in the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Oracle Cup starting Thursday in Surprise, Ariz. Humphreys will take part in both the singles and doubles competition, while Kitchell will compete with Humphreys in doubles.
All other UW-Whitewater players will visit UW-Stout and UW-River Falls next Saturday for Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual matches at 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
