One Goal is Enough for Warhawks

Zach Rewasiewicz (South Milwaukee/South Milwaukee) scored an unassisted goal just 7:52 in to the game to give UW-Whitewater a 1-0 win at Lake Forest College Sunday.

Whitewater had just three shots in the first half, but Rewasiewicz's goal, his third of the season, was enough as the Warhawk defense allowed just three shots and goalie Aaron Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) was called on to make just one save while recording his first shutout of the season.

Both defenses kept the ball in the middle of the field, with just three corner kicks for each team.  Whitewater had ten shots, and LFC keeper Tom Biesiada stopped one shot on goal.  Neither goalie was tested in the second half, with both of the saves coming in the first period.

UW-W has scored one goal in each of its last four matches, going 1-1-2 in that span.  The Warhawks are 5-4-3 overall.  Lake Forest is 5-6-1.

Whitewater will return to its first season of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Friday, hosting Finlandia University at 7:00.  The match is part of a women's/men's doubleheader at Robert W. Fiskum Field on the north end of the UW-W campus.
