Vodenlich Named ABCA Regional Coach of the Year

John Vodenlich, head coach of the Warhawk baseball team, has been named the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association and ATEC Region IX Coach of the Year. 

Coach Vodenlich has earned the region's top honor six times over the course of his career (2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2024 and 2025). This season, he led the UW-Whitewater baseball team to its third national title in program history. The Warhawks compiled a 49-6 record, capturing the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, a regional title and super regional championship en route to the World Series. Vodenlich also garnered WIAC Coach of the Year honors this season. 

The ABCA/ATEC Regional Coaches of the Year are selected by members of the ABCA All-America & Coach of the Year Committees in all nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division and high school. 

The ABCA/ATEC National Coach of the Year will be announced June 25.
