The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's & women's swim team finished out the 2025 WIAC Swim Championship.
The women's team finished 5th overall with 332 total team points. The men's team placed 4th with a 487.5 points.
The Saturday finals started out with the women's 1650 free. The Warhawks were led by
Nikolina Gallo (Greendale, Wis./), who finished 8th overall with an 18:41.52. Briana Zimdars,
Gala Boutin (San Antonio, Tex./Smithson Valley), and
Sidney Straley (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) all scored team points in the event as well. On the men's side of the 1650,
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./) finished third overall. Weis medaled with a 16:21.18.
The next finals were the 200 backstroke. For the Warhawk women,
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./) and
Hannah Wenszell (West Bend, Wis./Wisconsin Virtual) competed in the B Final. Doczy finished 4th in the heat with a 2:15.32, Wenzell finished less than 0.2 seconds behind with a 2:15.68. For the men,
Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./) was seeded in the A Finals for the 200 back. Schmohe timed in at 1:55.93 to finish 7th in the heat.
For the women,
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) was in the A Final for the 100 free. Connell swam a 53.76, placing 7th overall. For the men, both
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) &
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) were in the A Final. Schlueter finished tied for fourth with a 46.57 and Bergman had a 47.08, finishing 8th.
Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./) finished 7th overall in the A Final of the 200 breaststroke. Johnson's time of 2:07.70 ranks fourth in the Warhawk record books. In the B final,
Isaac Schroeder (Waukesha, Wis./Homeschool),
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore), and Matt Sorg all competed, finishing 12th, 13th, and 15th in the final respectively.
The Warhawk women topped the B Final in the 200 butterfly.
Paige Malitz (Wausau, Wis./DC Everest) - 2:19.26,
Hannah Gault (Moline, Ill./) - 2:23.27, and
Lauryn Moneta (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland) - 2:24.00. The men's side did the same with,
Daniel Keller (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-LaVista) - 2:00.15,
Matt Ozog (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) - 2:02.29, and
Matt Sipin (Round Lake, Ill./Grayslake Central) - 2:04.24 finish 9th, 10th, & 11th in the final.
The final event of the evening for the Warhawks was the 400 freestyle relay.
The women's team of

Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./), &
Addi Sanow (Munster, Ind./) timed in at a 3:37.65, the 6th best time in Warhawk history.
The men's team of
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford),
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./),
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore), and
Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) earned the highest finish of Warhawks on the night, placing a close 2nd by less than 0.2 seconds. Their time of 3:04.86, ranks 2nd in Warhawk history, only 0.4 seconds behind the group's personal best in the WIAC championship a season ago.

Another UW-Whitewater record fell on the third day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Brown Deer Friday evening.
The Warhawk men's 200 freestyle relay squad broke the program record with a time of 1:22.83.
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) led off the crew followed by
Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./),
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore) and
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./). On the women's side,
Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./) was the lead.
Addi Sanow (Munster, Ind./) and
Jenna Denton (O'Fallon, Ill./) followed by
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) anchoring the squad that registered the fourth-fastest time in program history - 1:37.24. Both the men and women finished fourth in the championships.
UW-Whitewater swimmers tallied a number of additional top ten marks in program history Friday. Gramer posted the fifth-fastest time in UWW history in the 100 breaststroke. He was clocked in 57.98 for seventh.

Brenden Spaulding (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and Matt Sorg added top 16 finishes in the event. In the women's race,
Amelia Davey (Middleton, Wis./) and
Natalie Miska (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) added points to the team total with top 16 finishes.
Denton wrote her name in the UW-Whitewater record book in two individual events to go along with the relay Friday. The freshman notched a career-best time of 59.45 in the 100 butterfly - the eighth-fastest in program history.

In the 100 backstroke, Denton came into the wall in 59.95 for a new PR and a mark that ranks ninth historically.
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./) finished 15th. Schmohe had a fantastic race on the men's side. He stopped the clock in 51.33 to finish as the runner-up in the event. Ozog and
Jalen Stimes (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) added top 16 finishes in the 100 back.
Isaac Schroeder (Waukesha, Wis./Homeschool) added his name to UWW's top ten list with a time of 4:13.48 in the 400 individual medley. He finishes sixth while
Daniel Keller (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-LaVista) and
Zak Nowakowski (DeForest, Wis./) added team points in the event.
Hannah Wenszell (West Bend, Wis./Wisconsin Virtual) paced the Warhawk women in the event with a time of 4:52.33 for eighth.
Gala Boutin (San Antonio, Tex./Smithson Valley),
Hannah Gault (Moline, Ill./) and
Rylie Bergemann (Racine, Wis./Union Grove) were also among the top 16.
Three UWW men finished among the top eight in the 200 free. Schlueter bolstered the squad with a time of 1:42.48 for bronze.
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./) was sixth with a clocking of 1:43.99 and
Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) finished eighth (1:44.70). Sanow led a five-Warhawk contingent to finish among the top 16 in the 200 free. She posted a time of 1:59.50 to claim ninth.
Nikolina Gallo (Greendale, Wis./), Connell, Linstroth and Andi Bullman added top 16 times.
Jersey Schweitzer (Oak Creek, Wis./) and
Lydia Wirkkula (West Bend, Wis./West Bend West) represented UW-Whitewater in the one-meter diving competition. Schweitzer totaled 310.55 to finish 12th while Wirkkula was 16th.
The WIAC announced the 2025 All-Sportsmanship Team during the evening session Friday.
Aliya Griffiths (Lebanon, Ore./) and
Matt Sipin (Round Lake, Ill./Grayslake Central) represented UW-Whitewater on the squad.
Thursday Recap
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater set some new top-10 times on the second day of the WIAC Championships (Presented by Culver's) in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
Due to a power outage at the facility, the morning preliminary rounds were canceled, making the evening events all timed finals. The events were split into heats based on qualifying times and the finals were decided on those races.
The evening races began with the women's 500 free.
Nikolina Gallo (Greendale, Wis./) finished in the top 10 after swimming in Heat 3 of the time finals. Gallo timed in at 5:17.39 to take 10th overall.
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./) took runner-up in the finals on the men's side of the 500. Swimming in the final heat of the event, Weis set a new personal best of 4:40.19, ranking fourth in Warhawk history. Weis took second in a very close race, less than 0.4 seconds ahead of the bronze-place finisher.
Isaac Schroeder (Waukesha, Wis./Homeschool) also placed in the top 10 of the men's 500, timing in at 4:50.47 for 10th place.
The 200 yard Individual medley was the second of four swimming finals on Friday. On the women's side,
Hannah Gault (Moline, Ill./) scored team points, touching in 2:19.67. Gault swam in the third heat and finished 16th overall. For the men's 200 IM,
Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./) led the Warhawks, placing sixth overall. Johnson timed in at 1:56.85, putting his name in the Warhawk record book for the 6th best time in program history.
The third final was the 50 yard free, the fastest race of the entire event. The Warhawk women had two in the top-10 finishers.
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) placed 7th overall with a time of 24.40. Right behind her,
Jenna Denton (O'Fallon, Ill./) timed in at 24.52, tying for eighth overall. Connell and Denton's times both were 4th and 5th in the Warhawk record book, respectively.
For the men's 50 free,
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) and
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) times placed in the top-5 of the event. Bergman swam in Heat 2 while Schlueter was placed in Heat 4.
Schlueter finished third overall, earning bronze with a time of 20.97. Schlueter's time beats out his personal best, set earlier this season at the Luther Invite. Bergman placed 5th, with a 21.10.
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore) also added team points with a 16th place finish at 21.63.
The night rounded-out with the women's and men's 400-yard medley relays. On the women's side,
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./), Addison Sanow,
Amelia Davey (Middleton, Wis./), and
Jenna Denton (O'Fallon, Ill./) raced for the Warhawks. The team timed in with a 4:07.43, placing fifth overall in the event. For the men,

Matt Ozog (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin),
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore), and
Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) placed 4th overall. The group timed in at 3:27.33, the fifth-best time in Warhawk program history.
The Championships will continue tomorrow starting at 10 AM. The championship events in the evening include the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, women's 1mtr dive, and the 200 freestyle relay.
Wednesday Recap
Day one of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference swimming and diving championship held in Brown Deer is in the books and so is a new record for UW-Whitewater.
The first day of the championships featured finals in the 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay and women's three-meter diving competition. The highlight of the day for UWW came in the men's 800 freestyle relay as the Warhawks broke the program record that had stood since 2015.
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) led off the squad with
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./) and
Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) swimming the second and third legs respectively.
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) anchored the combination coming into the wall in 6:48.30 to seal a runner-up finish in the event and break the school record by over two seconds.
In the 200 medley relay,
Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./),
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore), Bergman and Schlueter teamed up to record the second-fastest time in Warhawk history - 1:31.88. That mark added fourth-place points to the team total.
The UW-Whitewater women added a pair of top ten times in the two relays Wednesday. In the 200 medley relay, Warhawks

Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) combined for a time of 1:49.08. That mark is fifth-fastest in UWW history and added fifth-place points to the women's total. In the 800 freestyle relay,
Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./) led off the group followed by
Nikolina Gallo (Greendale, Wis./) and
Addi Sanow (Munster, Ind./). Connell anchored the squad, coming into the wall in fifth with a time of 8:05.38 - the tenth-fastest in Warhawk history.
Jersey Schweitzer (Oak Creek, Wis./) and Brookelyn Kelpfer represented UW-Whitewater in the three-meter diving competition. Schweitzer totaled 315.75 while Kelpfer scored 287.80 for 14th and 16th respectively.
Day two of the WIAC Championships will begin with prelims in the morning session. The evening session is set to begin at 6:30 at the Schroeder Aquatic Center. The conference championship meet runs through Saturday evening.
