The UW-Whitewater swimming and diving program concluded the 2024-25 regular season schedule at home against UW-Eau Claire Saturday. Final scores for the men were UWW 77.5 - UWEC 211.5. The women's final was UWW 59 - UWEC 234.
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) and
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) highlighted the Warhawk men's performance individually. Schlueter was flying in the 50 free touching the wall in 22.09 to win the race by .11. Teammate
Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./) added bronze with a time of 22.50 in the event.
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) shared goal in a thrilling 100 freestyle race. Bergman went out with the lead but a Blugold swimmer caught up as the pair came into the wall. The duo touched at exactly the same moment to share gold with a time of 47.91.
Jenna Denton (O'Fallon, Ill./) bolstered the women's performance with the top time in the 50 free. Denton registered a time of 25.04 to win the race by over two-tenths of a second. She added a second place finish in the 100 free after posting a time of 54.92.
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) claimed bronze in the event with a time of 56.03.
UW-Whitewater's 200 freestyle relay picked up a big win to cap the meet Saturday. Bergman led off the squad that featured Schmohe and
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore) with Schlueter anchoring. The four combined for a time of 1:26.19 to win the event by over two seconds. In the first relay of the day, the 200 medley, Schmohe led off for Gramer, Bergman and Schlueter as the Warhawks captured second with a time of 1:36.31.

Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./),
Amelia Davey (Phillips, Wis./), Denton and
Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./) combined for a time of 1:53.58. Denton led off for UWW's 200 freestyle relay squad that also featured Addie Sanow, Linstroth and Connell. The four combined for a second place time of 1:42.74.
UW-Whitewater had a number of additional top three finishers Saturday.
Brady Peetz (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) recorded a time of 11:12.48 to finish third in the 1000 free.
Nikolina Gallo (Greendale, Wis./) secured second in the women's 200 free with a time of 2:02.71 -- just three-tenths off the lead. Doczy picked up a silver in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.84. She added a bronze in the 200 back with a time of 2:19.32.
Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) added third-place points to the team total with a clocking of 1:01.80 in the 100 breaststroke.
Jalen Stimes (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) added a pair of third place times -- 2:10.73 in the 200 butterfly and 2:07.87 in the 200 back.
Caleb Weis' (Burlington, Wis./) 4:56.10 was good for second in the 500 free while
Isaac Schroeder (Waukesha, Wis./Homeschool) placed third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.04.
In the diving competition, Brookelyn Kelpfer paced the Warhawks off the one-meter board with a total of 200.48 for third.
Jersey Schweitzer (Oak Creek, Wis./) was the top UWW diver in the three-meter competition with a total of 182.25 for fourth.
UW-Whitewater will be back in the pool for the WIAC Championships in Brown Deer, Wisconsin Wednesday, February 19. The conference championship is set to run through Saturday, February 22.
