The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team finished ninth in a powerhouse field of teams at the Warhawks' Fall Invite held at TPC Wisconsin in Madison. The 17-team field featured squads from 16 institutions including 10 ranked or receiving votes in the most recent Women's Golf Coaches Association Division III poll.
UW-Whitewater wrapped up round two Monday on the tough, but gorgeous, course with a 328.
Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) led the way with an 82 in round two for a total of 159 to finish 18th individually.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) shaved two strokes off of her round one card for a 79 Sunday. She was 26th on the individual leaderboard.
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) and
Ellie Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) finished among the top 50 with totals of 166. Johnson cut four strokes from round one to her final Sunday for an 81.
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) rounded out the group with an 87 in round two and a total of 173.
A second Warhawk fivesome was led by
Abbie Reiser's (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) top 50 total of 167.
Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) added a 173 followed by
Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg),
Norah Berken (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) and
Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson).
Breezy Roman (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) was the top finishing Warhawk competing as an individual at the tournament. She carded a two-day total of 187.
Sammy Galian (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and
Natalie Kammer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) also competed individually for UWW.
No. 15 Centre College won the invite followed by No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan. No. 25 Randolph-Macon rounded out the top three teams. Individually, Centre's Grace Walker topped the 96-player field with a 145 - finishing three over par.

Sammy Galian (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) registered a 101.
