The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team wrapped up the 2025 Golfweek October Classic at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida. The Warhawks finished 18th overall with a team total of 974 (326-322-325) over the three-day invite.
Norah Berken (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) led the five Warhawks after the three days. Berken finished with a 242 total (82-79-81), finishing 56th overall on the individual leaderboard.
Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) improved her standing on the final day totaling a 245 (82-83-80). Schmidt finished the invite strong, recording two birdies on the Par 3's on the last day.
Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) matched Schmidt with a 245 (81-77-87) through the three days as well. Velent hit the Warhawks' best round of the invite with a 77 on the second day, totaling 14 pars on that day.
Delainey Halverson (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and
Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) rounded out the Warhawks in Florida. Halverson finished with a 247 (81-83-83) while Akers was at a 251 (84-85-82).Â
With the Warhawks wrapping up the Golfweek Invite, their 2025 season comes to a close. The team will be back in action in the Spring for the spring portion of their season.Â
