The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater capped off day two with a first place finish in the Battle on the Border hosted by Carthage College at Bristol Oaks Country Club.
The Warhawks extended their seven-stroke day-one lead by 10, finishing with a 619 total (310-309). There was a four way tie on the individual leaderboard, with three Warhawks finishing with a 154 total through two days.
Ellie Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) (79-75),
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) (76-78), and
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) (77-77) all finished atop the leaderboard. Rounding out the first Warhawk squad,
Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) finished 9th overall with a 159 (8--89) and
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) finished 21st overall with a 165 (78-87),
For the second fivesome, the Warhawks placed 6th overall with a 670 (342-328), moving up two places from day one. The second squad of
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community),
Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson),
Norah Berken (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna),
Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg), and
Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson) all finished in the top 50 out of 110. Reiser (84-79) and Velent (82-81) both finished 15th overall with a 163 total. Berken (90-82) with a 172, Akers (89-86) with a 175, an Honn (87-89) with a 176.
Natalie Kammer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) (88-92),
Breezy Roman (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) (96-89), and Sammy Gailian (96-94) all competed as individuals in the two day invite.
The Warhawk golfers will return to the course next weekend, heading to Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly, IA for the Wartburg Invite. The invite will begin September 7th and conclude the 8th.

Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) carded a 77 to rank fifth while
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) registered a round of 78 and
Ellie Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) came in with a 79.
Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) added an 80 to round out the group.
UW-Whitewater's second fivesome competing in the tournament is eighth on the team leaderboard.
Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) paced the second Warhawk squad with an 82 followed by
Abbie Reiser's (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) 84. Adding to the Warhawks' total of 342 were
Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson) (87),
Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) (89) and
Norah Berken (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) (90).
Natalie Kammer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) came into the clubhouse with an 88 while
Sammy Galian (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and
Breezy Roman (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) carded 96's. All three are competing as individuals.
