John Vodenlich, head coach of the University of Wiscosin-Whitewater baseball team, was named the 2024 ABCA/ATEC Region IX Coach of the Year.

In Vodenlich's 21st season, the 2024 Warhawks went 45-12 along with the NCAA DIII national runner-up. During the season, Vodenlich also reached win 728, tying the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record for career wins. Vodenlich led the Warhawks to the 2024 WIAC Regular Season Title and WIAC Tournament Champions, qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the 17th time in his 20 full seasons. 

The Warhawks made it the NCAA Division III College World Series for the eighth time in program history, seventh under Vodenlich. UW-Whitewater was the national runner-up, reaching the tournament championship for just the third time in school history.
