Cassie Lee (Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's Tennis team competed in the NCAA DIII Singles Tournament in St. Louis hosted by WashU.
The junior faced off against Maegan Deng from Redlands College in the opening round. Deng came into the match ranked 17th overall in DIII Singles.
In the first set, Deng picked up six games over Lee. After the second set opened with another game in favor of Deng, Lee tied it up 1-1 winning her first game of the match.
Deng closed out the match with five more games, taking the 6-0, 6-1 win.Â
Luke VanDonslear will be back out tomorrow, representing the Warhawks on the Men's side of the NCAA DIII Singles Tournament. VanDonslear will face off against Vuk Vuksanovic from Tufts tomorrow at 9 AM.
