The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team opened up their spring season with the WashU Spring Invite over the weekend of April 6th.
The Warhawks finished 7th out of 13 teams, finishing with a team total of 803 strokes.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) led the Warhawks, finishing both days with 80 for a weekend total of 160. Sheppard finished tied-16th overall on the individual leader board.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) wasn't too far behind, finishing with a 164 (80-84), tied for 25th overall.
Only one stroke separated
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) and
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) on the leaderboard. Shanahan finished with a 167 (86-81) and Myers with a 168 (87-81). Both improved on the second day, besting their total from the first day.
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) rounded out the Warhawk golfers, finishing with a 178 (90-88) over the two day span.
The Warhawk golfers will head back out the course next weekend (April 13th-14th) for the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling held by Illinois Wesleyan Univeristy at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
