Box Score 2 The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team defeated UW-Eau Claire in both games of the double header on Saturday.
The Warahwks got out ot a hot start in the first game, cruising to a 17-0, 7 inning shutout win in the first game. The Warhawks scored on four consecutive home-runs, with
Danny Hopper (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) hitting two over the fences on back-to-back at bats. At the end of the fifth inning, the Warhawks were up 13-0.Â
The Blugolds had no answer, as the Warhawks added on four more runs, finishing the game out in 7 innings, 17-0.

Matt Scolan (Downers Grove, Ill./South),
Dominik McVay (Mineral Point, Wis./Mineral Point), and
Jackson Koenig (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) all hit home runs in the contest, with the Warhawks adding six doubles with 21 hits. The Blugolds in comparison had only two hits.
Cade Berendt (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) earned the win, pitching for 5 innings with only 1 hit.
The Warhawks kept the momentum going in the second game, jumping out a quick 6-0 lead with the help from some
Eli Frank (Bayport, Wis./Bay Port) doubles & another Koenig homer.
The Blugolds finally added on their first run of the day with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. The two teams traded runs for the next few innings, but the Warhawks had built up enough of a lead to close the game after only 8 innings, winning 16-5.
Dominick McVay would have another home run in the second game, making three Warhawks with 2 home runs on the day (Hopper, Koenig, McVay).
Jack Hagen (San Clemente, Cal./San Clemente) picked up the win on the mound, earning his 5th of the season.
The Warhawks will continue their series against UW-Eau Claire with another double header on Sunday, April 14th.
