The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swimming and diving programs fell to UW-La Crosse in a dual meet in Whitewater Saturday. The Warhawks honored the 2024 senior class during their final home dual of the season.

The UW-Whitewater men won the first event of the day.
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) led off the foursome that included
Donny Gramer (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore), Matthew Ozog and
Ethan Bergman (Racine, Wis./Bradford) in the 200 medley relay. The four combined for a time of 1:37.64 to win the tight race by less than a second. On the women's side,
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./Greendale),
Hannah Wenszell (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Virtual),
Paige Malitz (Wausau, Wis./DC Everest) and
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) were UWW's top combination with a time of 1:57.27.
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) picked up gold in the 1000 freestyle. His clocking of 10:14.52 was more than 25 seconds faster than the next finisher.
Schlueter added an individual gold in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.31. Teammate
Hunter Hayberger (Sandusky, Ohio/Sandusky) claimed bronze in the event coming into the wall in 1:50.78.
Three Warhawks finished among the top three in the men's and women's 100 backstroke. Doczy registered a time of 1:03.65 to tie for third on the women's side.
Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./Sullivan) picked up silver in the men's race stopping the clock in 53.85 followed by Ozog's time of 57.45 in third.
Donny Gramer (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) added first-place points to the men's total in the 100 breaststroke. He out-touched the competition in a tight race with a time of 1:00.71.
Grace Jasken (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) was third in the event in the women's race with a clocking of 1:15.49.
A pair of Warhawks finished back-to-back in the men's 200 butterfly.
Matt Sipin (Round Lake, Ill./Grayslake Central) led the way with a time of 2:04.07 for second followed by
Dan Emary's (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) time of 2:17.80.
Hannah Gault (Moline, Ill./Senior) secured silver for the women with a time of 2:29.04.
Bergman and Schlueter paced the competition in the 100 free. Bergman came into the wall in 47.44 with Schlueter less than three-tenths back.
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) added third-place points to the team total in the event with a time of 56.73, two-hundredths out of second.
Gramer posted a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.06 with Wenszell finishing third for the women with a time of 2:17.26.
Jasken and
Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) secured silver in the women's and men's 200 breaststroke. Jasken was clocked in 2:39.79 while Johnson led the UWW men with a time of 2:17.32.
Weis and Sipin swept the first and second spots in the 500 freestyle. Weis was the first into the wall with a time of 4:59.31 followed by Sipin's time of 5:08.99.
Gala Boutin (San Antonio, Tex./Smithson Valley) added second-place points to the team total with a time of 5:40.62.
In the 100 fly, Bergman was just .13 back of the lead with a time of 52.71. Malitz was third in the women's race with a time of 1:04.25.
Schmohe and
Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) secured second and third in the men's 200 individual medley. Schmohe was clocked in 2:05.12 followed by Phillips' time of 2:07.40.
In the final event in the pool, the Warhawk men won an exciting race in the 200 freestyle relay. Schlueter, Phillips, Gramer and Berman combined for a time of 1:26.16 to win the event. On the women's side, Andi Bullman,
Ava Hennig (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove), Doczy and Connell combined for a time of 1:46.50 to lead the UWW foursomes in the event.
UW-Whitewater had the lone two divers on the women's side.
Lydia Wirkkula (West Bend, Wis./West Bend West) posted a total of 268.80 off the one-meter board and 122.25 off the three-meter board.
Maggie Reinert (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton-Warreville South) registered totals of 109.80 and 104.85 in the one and three meter competitions respectively.
Drew Schmitz (Appleton, Wis./North) represented the Warhawk men with a gold in the one-meter competition. He registered a total of 383.70 in the event. Off the three-meter board, he posted a total of 333.30 for third.
