The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's team swim competed in the Luther Invite over the weekend. The men's team won the event, totaling 993 points.
To start of Saturday's Finals events, the Warhawk men got started with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay.
Jason Halvert (Whitewater, Wis.),
Donny Gramer (Dekalb, Ill./Sycamore),
Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford), and
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) finished over two seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.
The Warhawks took the first two slots of the 400 IM in the next event, with
Daniel Keller (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-LaVista) leading the way. Keller timed in with a 4:17.50.
Isaac Schroeder (Waukesha, Wis./Homeschool) joined his teammate on the podium with a 4:23.01 for second place.Â
Schlueter and
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./) both medaled in the 200 free. Schlueter topped the podium with a 1:44.07 while Weis placed third, with a closer 1:46.93 finish.
Jason Halvert (Whitewater, Wis.) added yet another Warhawk gold in the 100 fly, timing in with a 50.20 in the event.
Donny Grammer and
Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./) finished in the top five of the 100 breast. Grammer timed in at 58.87 for a second place finish.
On the B final side of the 100 breast, Matt Sorg and
Brenden Spaulding (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) finished 1st and 2nd in the heat. Sorg timed in at 1:02.27 with Spaulding narrowly behind with a time of 1:02.31.
In the 200 back, the Warhawks took two of the top three spots. ethan Schmohe had the top time, finishing in 2:00.8. Joining Schmohe on the podium,
Jalen Stimes (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) finished third with a time of 2:02.88.
The Warhawks had friendly competition for the top spot in the 50 free.
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) and
Jason Halvert (Whitewater, Wis.) finished 1-2, with Schlueter timing in at 20.99 with Halvert closely behind at 21.22.
The Warhawks rounded out the finals on Saturday with a top finish in the 400 freestyle. The relay team of

Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford), and
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) edged out the second-place team by only 0.3 seconds, touching in 3:09.63.Â

The Men's and Women's team wrapped up their 2024 portion of the season. The team will next be in action on January 25th, 2025 in their annual traingular against Lawrence and Lake Forest. The 2025 triangular takes place in the Warhawks' home pool in the Williams Center.
