The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team competed in the Golfweek October Classic in Destin, Florida this week. The Warhawks finished 23rd in the tournament that featured 15 teams ranked in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association Division III poll. 

UW-Whitewater registered a three-round total of 979. The Warhawks kicked off the tournament with their best day at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort coming into the clubhouse with a 315. UWW added a 335 in round two before capping the tournament with a 329. 

Ellie Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) was the top Warhawk finisher. The senior tied for 77th with rounds of 77, 83 and 78 for a total of 238. Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) was +24 with a total of 240 (77, 81, 82) followed by Payton Schmidt's (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) 250 (80, 87, 83). Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) added a 253 (81, 85, 87) with Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) rounding out the Warhawks' fivesome with a total of 256 (84, 86, 86). 

The Golfweek Classic is the final competition for UW-Whitewater this fall. The Warhawks will return to the links in the spring.
