Normal, Ill. -- The UW-Whitewater women's golf team wrapped up competition in the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan Sunday. The top Warhawk squad finished 13th while a second fivesome secured 15th in the 21-team field.
Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) paced UWW Sunday carding a 79 for a two-day total of 160.
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) was one stroke back from her teammate to finish among the top 35 individually.
Delainey Halverson (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) recorded an 82 (168) followed by
Emily Akers' (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) 89 (171) and
Jessica Velent's (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) 88 (171) to round out UW-Whitewater's 'A' squad.
The second Warhawk combination was led by
Elizabeth Vanderhei (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) with a 79 Sunday for a 36-hole total of 165.
Natalie Kammer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) added an 86 (170) while
Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson) and
Breezy Roman (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) each carded 89s Sunday for a total of 172 each.
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) wrapped up the crew with a 94 Sunday and a total of 178.
Alexa Reed (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) competed for UW-Whitewater as an individual carding an 81 Sunday for a total of 166.

The Warhawks top squad is eleventh on the team leaderboard after the first 18. A second UWW squad holds 16th in the 21-team field after day one.
