University of Wisconsin-Whitewater junior infielder Adam Cootway (DePere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) has earned All-America honors from D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association sponsored by Rawlings. Cootway is a 2023 First Team honoree for D3 and garnered Second Team recognition from the ABCA.

Cootway was selected as the Region 9 Player of the Year for both the ABCA and D3baseball.com last week. The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Position Player of the Year following the 2023 campaign, had an incredible season at the plate, leading the conference in multiple offensive categories including batting average (.477), runs (59), hits (71), triples (5), RBI (67), slugging percentage (.933), hit-by-pitch (14) and on base percentage (.560).

Cootway wrote his name in the league record book as the tenth player in WIAC history to hit for the cycle in a game -- and he added a bonus homerun in that outing. In a seven-day stretch late in the season, Cootway put together one of the best hitting performances of a Division III player this season. In seven games, he was 23-30 at the plate with 22 runs scored, 32 RBI, 3 doubles, 2 triples and 8 homeruns. Cootway earned national hitter of the week recognition for his performance at the plate during that span.
