The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team finished fifth at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University this weekend. A second UWW squad tied for eleventh at the invitational.
Ellie Johnson and
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) led the top Warhawk squad with top 20 individual finishes carding a 154 and 156 for the weekend respectively.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) added a 158 to finish just outside the top 20.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) andd Madison LaPaz rounded out the group with two-round totals of 174 and 175 respectively.

Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) (167),
Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) (167),
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) (170),
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (173) and
Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) (178).
Saturday Recap
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round in a field of 19 teams at the Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University.
Due to forecasted inclement weather Sunday, the golfers got as many holes in as they could Saturday.
UW-Whitewater's 'A' squad consisting of Ellie Johnson,
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy),
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig), Madison LaPaz and
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) combined for a 310 in the first round. Johnson and Sinak each posted rounds of 75 to hold eighth on the individual leaderboard. Lux came in with a 77, tied for 21st. LaPaz and Sheppard carded an 83 and 84 respectively.
A second UWW group is tied for tenth.
Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) led the squad with an 80 followed by
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) (81),
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (81),
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) (84) and
Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) (92).
