The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team won the IWU Fall Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan in record fashion Sunday. The Warhawks carded a 601, lowest 36-hole total in program history by six strokes.
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) led the top UW-W team with a 75 on day two for a two-day total of 147 to finish as the runner-up. She carded a 72 Saturday, a career-best and the second-lowest round in program history. All five of the Warhawks in the top finishing team were among the top 15 individually.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) registered a 73, the third-lowest in program history, Sunday to finish with a 151 and place sixth.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) and
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) tied for tenth with a total of 155.
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) rounded out the fivesome with a 156 for 13th. Sinak posted a 71 Sunday to tie her own school record for the lowest 18-hole score.
In addition to setting the program record for 36-hole total, the Warhawks posted a 296 Sunday to set the 18-hole record.
UW-Whitewater's second team competing at the invite finished tenth with a team total of 661. The squad included

Lauren Winter (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) (164),
Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) (175), and
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) (184) competed as individuals at the tournament.
