The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team sit atop the leaderboard after day one of the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic in Normal, Illinois.
 
The Warhawks have two teams competing in the tournament with the second squad holding tenth after one day of competition.
 
UW-W's top team carded a 305 on day one led by the overall leader Elizabeth Johnson's (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) 72. Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) registered a 77 on day one and is tied for sixth. Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) and Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) both carded a 78 to sit in 11^th. Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) rounded out the leading fivesome with an 84.
 
 Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) is leading Whitewater's second squad ranked among the top 20 with a 79 on day one. Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) (83), Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (85), Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) (86), and Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) (86) are among the top 55 on the individual leaderboard.
 
There are 15 teams and nearly 100 individuals total competing in the IWU Fall Classic. Competition is slated to conclude Sunday.
