The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team finished fifth out of 23 teams at the Wartburg Fall Invite Sunday at Prairie Links Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) led the Warhawks finishing sixth on the individual leader board.
UW-W had a pair of teams competing at the invite. The top squad that finished fifth carded a two-day total of 624 after shaving 12 strokes off their day one total for a 306 Sunday. The second fivesome tied for 13th with a total of 667 (341-326).
Sheppard shot a 150 with a 76 on day one and 74 on day two to finish sixth. She was joined by
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) (76-78-154),
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (82-76-158),
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) (84-78-162), and
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) (85-81-166). Johnson finished among the top 20 while LaPaz's card was top 30 and Sinak and Lux finished among the top 60.
The second UW-Whitewater squad competing at the invite included
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community),
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset),
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc),
Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland), and
Lauren Winter (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg). The five combined to shave 15 strokes off their day one total with a 326 on day two. Their invite card totaled 667. Reiser led the way with back-to-back 81's for a 162 and top 50 finish.
Illinois Wesleyan won the invite with a total of 598.
