The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team wrapped up its fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship with a third-round score of 331 Thursday at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.
The Warhawks tallied a three-day total of 982 (335-316-331), only four strokes out of 18th place in the 29-team field.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) led UW-Whitewater with a score of 239 (82-76-81), good for a tie for 68th overall.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) carded a 35 on her final nine holes Thursday on her way to a 245 (86-80-79) and the team's best round of the day. She finished the day in a tie for 86th.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) totaled a 251 (83-80-88) to tie for 107th, while
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) collected a 254 (84-80-90) to tie for 114th.
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) registered her best round of the week Thursday on her way to a 256 (89-84-83), good for 117th place.
UW-Whitewater secured its bid to the NCAA Championship by winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title for a fifth straight season. The Warhawks have finished among the nation's top 20 in each of their four appearances in the national tournament.
