The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team finished eighth with a team score of 691 (344-347) over the weekend at the Texas Cup at The Courses at Watters Creek in Plano, Texas.
The Warhawks moved up one spot in the team standings following Saturday's opening round to finish just outside the top half of the 14-team tournament field.
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) and
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) led UW-Whitewater, tying for 33rd and 36th, respectively, in the 84-player field. Johnson fired a 166 (80-86) for the weekend, while Lux carded a 168 (83-85) over the two days.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) knocked three strokes off her first-round total to finish with a 173 (88-85) and tie for 47th overall.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) dropped two strokes in the second round for a total of 184 (93-91) to finish 66th.
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) placed 77th with a 210 (102-108) for the weekend.
Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) tied for 43rd competing as an individual, tallying a 171 (87-84).
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) tied for 60th overall with a 180 (87-93).
The Warhawks head to the WashU Spring Invite April 3-4 at Tapawingo National Golf Club in St. Louis.
