Day 1 Results
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team started its 2021-22 season Friday with an opening-round 326 at Carthage's Battle on the Border at Bristol Oaks Golf Club in Bristol, Wis.
The Warhawks are currently second in the 16-team field and trail only Carthage in the team standings.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) broke 80 in her UW-W debut to lead the team, tallying a 79 to finish the day in a tie for seventh out of 94 players.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) also wrapped up the day in the top 10 with an opening-round 81, good for a tie for 10th.
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) and
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) are tied for 15th through 18 holes with matching 83s.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) rounded out the group with an 84, good for a tie for 24th through one day.
The Warhawks' "B" team stands seventh after combining for a 342.
Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) led the group with a first-round 83, good for a tie for 15th.
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) is tied for 30th after posting an 85, and
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) is one shot back with an 86, good for 33rd place.
Sydney O'Hearn (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) carded an 88 and is tied for 37th, and
Lauren Winter (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) is tied for 54th following her opening-round 93.
Jessica LaBerge (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) and
Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) competed as individuals for UW-Whitewater. LaBerge is tied for 60th overall with a 94, and Norton turned in a score of 99 and is tied for 72nd.
Saturday's second and final round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
