The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team is the favorite to repeat as Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion in 2021 based on a preseason poll of the league's head coaches and athletic communications personnel.

The Warhawks swept the WIAC regular season and tournament championships and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2019. The team finished with a 14-6-3 record, including a 5-1-1 mark in conference play during the regular season.

UW-Whitewater is followed in the preseason poll, in order, by UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Oshkosh, UW-River Falls, UW-Stout and UW-Platteville. The 2020 season was canceled for all teams due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Warhawks have claimed seven conference regular season championships and five tournament titles all time.

UW-W starts the 2021 season Sept. 3 at St. Scholastica (Minn.). The team's first WIAC match is slated for Oct. 2 at home against UW-River Falls.

Check back early next week for a complete season preview of this year's team.
