The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's soccer team was unable to overcome the UW-La Crosse Eagles on their Senior Night in La Crosse. The Eagles scored three goals in the first half, with the Warhawks unable to get going offensively.
The Warhawks came out quick, putting an early shot on goal towards the UWL net, but it was the Eagles who took the early lead with a goal in the first 10 minutes.
UW-La Crosse quickly tacked on two more goals, less than 5 minutes apart, to go up 3-0 before the halftime break. The Warhawks managed to put three more shots on goal, but were unable to get the ball past the UWL keeper.
The Warhawks took just one shot on goal in the second half, but were able to hold UW-La Crosse out of the net with four saves from
Hannah Wolf (Oshkosh, Wis./West) in the second half. The Warhawks were on target with their shots, with all five going on goal.
The Warhawks will play in the first round of the WIAC Tournament, but will await a location due to ongoing games. Check the uwwsports.com Women's Soccer page for more information on game locations & times.
