DeMeyer's Catch Lands at No. 5 on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10

A catch made by University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball right fielder Jacob DeMeyer (Harshaw, Wis./Rhinelander) aired last night on ESPN's SportsCenter as part of the show's Top 10 plays of the day, coming in at No. 5 on the daily countdown.

DeMeyer chased down a fly ball in foul territory, running full speed into the fence down the right field line, tumbling into the Warhawks' bullpen and holding on for the catch, which was the third out of the top of the second inning.

Footage of the play was provided by UWW-TV.

UW-Whitewater went on to win the first game of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader by a 9-2 score over UW-La Crosse. DeMeyer also produced a strong performance at the plate in the contest, finishing 3-for-4 with one run scored and one run batted in.
