The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team moved up two spots to first place Saturday during the second round of the three-day, 54-hole Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship Presented by Culver's at Reedsburg Country Club in Reedsburg, Wis.
The Warhawks carded a team score of 311 to make their two-day total a 634 (323-311), 17 strokes ahead of UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout, which are tied for second place.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) led UW-Whitewater for the second straight day, posting a 74 for a total of 154 (80-74), good for third place overall among the field of 69 players.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) moved up the leaderboard with a second-round 77 to move to 158 (81-77), good for sixth place overall.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) and
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) are tied for eighth through 36 holes with the same totals and score sequences (81-80=161).
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) rounds out the Warhawk lineup with a 164 (82-82), good for a tie for 14th.
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) leads UW-W's individuals with a 168 (86-82), good for a tie for 21st overall.
Lauren Winter (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) is tied for 28th with her 175 (89-86), and
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) is tied for 30th with a 176 (82-94).
Sydney O'Hearn (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) is 33rd with a 177 (92-85), while
Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) is tied for 38th with a 179 (92-87).
Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) owns a score of 185 (87-98), and
Jessica LaBerge (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) will start the third round in 58th with her 194 (91-103).
Final round action begins Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in Reedsburg.
