The No. 21 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team opened the 2021-22 season by placing fourth over the weekend at the McKendree Hammer Bearcat Open at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Ill.
 
The Warhawks won two of their three best-of-seven Baker bracket matches Sunday, defeating Lewis in seven games before topping No. 15 Maryville in six games to reach the third-place match, where they were bested by No. 3 Arkansas State in five games.
 
Following the conclusion of play, Sam Knab (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) was recognized as a member of the All-Tournament Team after finishing fourth out of nearly 100 bowlers in traditional scoring.
 
UW-Whitewater heads to Sheridan Lanes in Kenosha on Nov. 12-14 for Stephen F. Austin's Ladyjack Classic.
