The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team improved its score by 11 strokes in Monday's second round at the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Sandestin Baytowne Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla.
The Warhawks are 16th in the highly-competitive field of 20 teams through 36 holes with a score of 641 (326-315), three shots behind California-Santa Cruz.
Four UW-Whitewater players carded rounds in the 70s on the second day of the tournament.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) leads the team with a two-round total of 159 (81-78), good for a tied for 46th out of 107 players.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) is tied for 51st with a 160 (81-79).
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) owns a 163 (84-79) through two rounds of competition and is tied for 65th place.
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) improved by eight strokes and is tied for 77th entering the final round with a 166 (87-79).
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) is also tied for 77th overall with her 166 (80-86).
The Warhawks wrap up competition at the three-day, 54-hole tournament Tuesday.
