The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team is 10 shots back of a top-10 pace following Sunday's opening round at the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Sandestin Baytowne Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla.
The Warhawks are 15th after carding a 326 in the first round. The team is 11 shots behind three teams tied for eighth place. The 20-team tournament field features several of the nation's top schools.
Elizabeth Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) led UW-Whitewater with a first-round 80, good for a tie for 41st out of 108 players in the field.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) and
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) are also among the top half of the field tied for 49th with matching scores of 81.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) is tied for 70th with an 84, and
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) is tied for 89th with her 87.
Second-round action is set for Monday.
