The No. 18 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team continued its strong play Saturday on the second day of the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational at Brunswick Zone in Chesterfield, Mo.
The Warhawks posted a 4-1 record in five traditional games and brought its total pinfall to 9,782, good for an average of 195.6 per game.
UW-Whitewater downed Lewis 1,052-900 to start the day, then recorded an 848-769 triumph over Spalding. The team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 1,034-976, fell 1,084-938 against third-ranked Nebraska and topped Drury 1,015-855.

Kelsey Jaeger (New London, Wis./Little Wolf), junior
Karlee Barton (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) and senior
Kailee Tubbs (Flint, Mich./Davison) led the Warhawks in traditional play. Jaeger posted 983 pins in five games (196.60 average), good for 19th place out of 120 bowlers. Barton finished 22nd with 977 pins (195.40 average), and Tubbs placed 25th at 969 pins (193.80 average).
Sophomore
Taylor Purgett (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) rolled 628 pins in three games, good for a 209.33 average and 83rd place, and sophomore
Caitlin Mertins (Racine, Wis./Park) registered 608 pins in three games for a 202.67 average and 85th place.
Sophomore
Sam Knab (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) and junior
Mary Conneely (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) placed 102nd and 104th, respectively. Knab averaged a 192.50 and totaled 385 pins in two games, and Conneely registered 337 pins in two games for a 168.50 avearage.
UW-Whitewater will face Nebraska Sunday in its first best-of-seven Baker series in bracket play. Competition begins at 8:30 a.m.
