No. 18 Bowling Fourth After Day 1 at Maryville

The No. 18 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team finished with a 2-2 record Friday on the first day of the Columbia 300 Saints Invite at Brunswick Zone in Chesterfield, Mo.
 
The Warhawks are fourth after the first day of competition, which included five sets of five Baker games. UW-Whitewater owns a pinfall of 4,895, good for an average of 195.8, entering Saturday's traditional games.
 
UW-Whitewater was edged by top-ranked McKendree to start the tournament, then was defeated by No. 12 Central Missouri after a roll-off was used to break the 952-952 tie.
 
Following a sound victory over Upper Iowa, the Warhawks posted a 1,103 on a bye, and concluded the day with a 10-pin win against No. 15 Maryville.
 
UW-Whitewater begins traditional competition Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against Lewis.
