Golf Finishes Up at UW-Stevens Point

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team took part in its final competition before next week's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship Sunday in the final round of the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational at Stevens Point Country Club.
 
The Warhawks each competed as individuals for the weekend, so no team score was tabulated.
 
Sophomore Billie Jo Parker (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) led the team for the weekend with a 170 (83-87), good for third place out of 20 players. Freshman Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) placed fifth with a 176 (85-91), and was joined among the top 10 by freshman Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park), who was eighth with a 184 (94-90), and freshman Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna), who was ninth with a 185 (90-95).
 
Freshman Jessica LaBerge (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) tied for 16th overall with a 215 (114-101), and freshman Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) carded a 225 (115-110) to place 19th.
 
The three-day, 54-hole WIAC Championship begins Friday at Reedsburg Country Club.
