The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's cross country teams each finished among the top three Friday at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne.
The Warhawk men placed second with 46 points, while the women finished third with 74 points.
Junior
David Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) topped the 82-runner field with a time of 25:45.0, exactly 15 seconds faster than the runner-up. Junior
Conner Hackett (Darlington, Wis./Darlington) and freshman
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) each placed among the top 10. Hackett's time of 27:02.9 was good for eighth, and Krause finished 10th in 27:04.7.
Junior
Kyle Neuroth (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) placed 11th in 27:05.6, and junior
Brian Kuehl (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) earned a top 20 finish with a 28:06.2.
Other varsity finishers included sophomore
Nick Key (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) and junior
Clinten Woerishofer (Appleton, Wis./North). Key crossed the finish line in 28:26.8, and Woerishofer was in the same pack at 28:27.6.
Juniors
Jessie Braun (Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine) and
Sydney Prestifilippo (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) placed among the top 10. Braun finished seventh in 24:35.9, and Prestifilippo also broke 25 minutes with a 24:50.5.
Freshman
Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) posted a mark of 25:16.6, good for 15th in the 61-runner field. Freshman
Alyssa Dobbs (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) crossed the finish line in 26:17.5, good for 26th, and junior
Julia Fewell (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) tallied a 26:24.7.
Freshman
Jill Cavanaugh (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) placed 32nd in 26:35.3, and freshman
Megan Anderson (Albany, Wis./Albany) recorded a varsity finish in 27:56.9, good for 39th.
UW-Whitewater heads to the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Oct. 4. Races are set for 4:15 p.m. (men) and 5:15 p.m. (women) at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis.
