Warhawk Women Compete in Renowned Augustana Interregional

Rock Island, Ill. -- The UW-Whitewater women's cross country program competed in a pair of meets Saturday at the Augustana Interregional including the 40-team Gold race where the Warhawks claimed 18th. 

The renowned Augustana Interregional hosts some of the toughest competition across the nation each season. This year, 12 teams competing the Gold race are ranked or receiving votes in the lates United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll. 

Payton Scoggin (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trails) led UW-Whitewater in the field field of 349 runners to cross the finish line. Scoggin posted a season-best time of 23:03 for 63rd. Abi Anderson (Janesville, Wis./Craig) claimed a spot among the top 100 with a time of 23:20. Katie Erb (Winnebago, Ill./) posted a time of 23:32 while Emma Henningfeld (East Troy, Wis./) (24:17) and Ella Hansen (Pewaukee, Wis./UW-Parkside) (24:19) rounded out the top five Warhawks. UWW was also represented by Nicole Brown (Grayslake, Ill./) (24:22), Emma Skelton (Mt. Prospect, Ill./) (24:32), Kaitlyn Burke (Fort Atkinson, Wis./) (24:41), Brinley Everson (Waunakee, Wis./) (25:08) and Carleen Snow (Rio, Wis./DeForest) (25:24) in the race. 

Over 300 runners represented 28 institutions in the Blue race. The Warhawks top five included Jocelyn Ramirez (Jefferson, Wis./) (24:48), Brielle Scoles (Kewaskum, Wis./) (25:32), Addi Kowalewski (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) (25:47), Madison Wnek (Batavia, Ill./) (25:51) and Lily Watson (Kiel, Wis./) (25:57).
