Marian Invite (JV) Round 1 Results
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team holds the lead after the first round of the 17-team Illinois Wesleyan Fall Invitational after breaking two more 18-hole scoring records at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
The Warhawks carded a school-record 297, shattering the previous mark of 303 set last weekend, and lead second-place Illinois Wesleyan by seven shots heading into Sunday's final round.
Sophomore
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) also broke the program's individual 18-hole scoring record with an even-par 72 in the first round, knocking off the previous record of 73 held by Sammie Leibham (2014) and senior teammate
CheyAnn Knudsen (Milton, Wis./Milton) (two occasions). Her score tops the field of 91 players.
Senior
Kelly Storti (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) fired a 74 to tie her personal best and trails only Sinak in the individual standings. Knudsen is also among the top five after posting a 75, good for a tie for third.

Ashley Hofmeister (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) is tied for seventh with a 76, and senior
Kristin Bowe (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) is tied for 13th with a 78.
Sophomore
Lauren Winter (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg), competing as an individual, tallied an 83 and is tied for 37th overall.
Sunday's final round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
UW-Whitewater also sent seven players to the Marian University Invite at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac. Freshman
Madi LaPaz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) paced the team with a first-round 88, good for a tie for third in the 65-player field. Freshman
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) is tied for fifth after firing an 89, and sophomore
Billie Jo Parker (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) is tied for eighth after carding a 92.

Jennifer Berardi (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) is tied for 20th after an opening-round 97, and senior
Bella Barbiere (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) is close behind with a 98, good for a tie for 23rd. Freshman
Grace Westerman (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) posted a 101 to stand in 33rd, and freshman
Jessica LaBerge (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) is tied for 38th with a first-round 104.
