Softball to Host NCAA Regional Starting Friday

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team will host the four-team Whitewater, Wisconsin, Regional round of the NCAA Division III Softball Championship this Friday-Sunday at van Steenderen Softball Complex.
 
The Warhawks (26-12 overall) will face Eureka (Ill.), the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, to open play Friday at 3:30 p.m. The other game will feature a pair of Pool "C", or at-large, qualifiers in Carthage and Coe (Iowa), who open regional play at 1 p.m.
 
UW-Whitewater earned its third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship before falling in the conference tournament over the weekend. The team earned its first Pool C berth since 2011 after claiming Pool A, or automatic, bids in each of its last six appearances.
 
The Warhawks are making their 22nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Sunday, May 12:
Game 6 – Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5, 12 p.m.
Game 7 (if necessary) – Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6, 2:30 p.m.
